Food over a fire

Have you ever tried food over a fire?

I’m not talking about over a grill.  I’m talking about over an open fire!

Most of the time, the food you cook would be on a stick such as a marshmallow or a hotdog.

But today I’m going to talk about mountain pies.

With a mountain pie, you would use a mountain pie maker.  To make a mountain pie you get two pieces of white bread, spray the mountain maker with cooking spray and  then put one slice of the white bread in the mountain pie maker.  After you do that, put anything you want on the  piece of white bread [not too much of it of course].  I filled mine with cherry pie filling.  Put the second piece of white bread over the other like a sandwich. Then close the mountain pie maker over the top.  Put the maker in the fire .  Hold it on one side for 20 seconds over the fire, then hold on the other side and do the same.

I like mountain pies when camping because they’re a tasty treat.

I give this treat 4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5)
